Koonung Bushwalking Club
Committed to the protection of our natural environment
Koonung Bushwalking Club is committed to the protection of our natural environment, which leads to healthier communities. Healthy parks mean healthy plants, animals and people, to provide the best nature experiences for visitors like us.
By volunteering, you’ll be helping protect our natural landscapes and wild places.
At KBC you can also be an active member of our Conservation activities. We have adopted tracks in Bunyip State Park where we complete regular track clearing with the local Park Ranger. This includes assisting with Bushfire Recovery in restoration of walking tracks.
We assist at Arthurs Seat with Boneseed weeding annually where we have our own block that we look after. You’ll be helping Parks Victoria and Local Councils in their crucial conservation work.
We spend a weekend each year in July planting trees with Hindmarsh Landcare in the Wimmera district of Victoria. You’ll be part of this ‘City meets Country’ event which makes a huge positive difference as we work alongside locals to help restore the natural environment with local indigenous trees and shrubs. The local Karen Refugee Community keep us well fed with delicious food all weekend.
