Boar Gully & Grass Tree Walk-Brisbane Ranges

August 14 @ 9:00 am - 3:30 pm AEST

Distance: 14 kms, Grading: Medium, M-5-5.

Details: This walk is another old club favourite located 25kms south of Bacchus Marsh.

We start & finish at the Boar Gully Car Park, and the walk follows the Little River Track

for about 5kms on wide bushy tracks that are easy underfoot, until the junction with

the Link Track where we can have morning tea. This track continues on until the

intersection with the Kangaroo Track links into the Wallaby Track and follows,

along to cross the main Thompsons Road to a small parking bay. From here on is a

long downhill section which is steep and very rocky and the most difficult part of the

walk. Fortunately, the climb out of the gorge is much more simplified with a steady

switchback of tracks allowing a gradual ascent over the next kilometre. At the top of

the ridge, the views are grand, and a good spot for lunch. From thereon we travel

along the various wide bushy tracks for a distance of about 5.5kms, on a generally flat

grade back to the car park.
