Ceres to Coburg Lak North.

Distance: 9 km, Grading: Easy, S-2-2.
Details: We walk north along Merri Creek from CERES past street art and market
gardens to Coburg Lake. From Coburg lake we continue north along Merri Creek as far
as Coburg Drive-In screen, walking off track where the track may be muddy. Then we cross
Carr Street pedestrian bridge and continue north along a sealed path. We retrace our
steps on the opposite side of the creek back to Coburg Lake where we cross Murray Rd to
Pentridge Prison village. From here we are 5 minute’s walk to tram No 19 along
Sydney Rd back to Flinders Station (at Elizabeth Street entrance).
Some will alight the tram along the way and cut through to CERES (over Lygon Street
north and Nicholson St). Others can continue on the tram to the city and change to train at
Flinders station; OR catch tram along Bourke or Collins streets to SCS)
Bring: Poles, and lunch (we will stop at Pentridge Prison Village at end of the walk for

Need: PT MIKI card – for return TRAM trip from Pentridge Village to CERES to collect
your car, or to SCS to catch a train after the walk.
Wear Bushwalking footwear (walk includes some off-track muddy paths). Leave
change of shoes in the car for after the walk.
MEET: 9.30 am at CERES Car Park. (Unrestricted parking) (Stewart St, Brunswick
PT Option – CERES is located close to the last stop on Nicholson Street on Route 96
along Bourke St from Southern Cross Station (allow 40 minutes from SCS).
