Werribee River Trail

Distance:9.5 Easy S 2-2.  This walk starts and ends at Werribee Train Station, so the best way to get here is by public transport departing from Flinders Street Station to Werribee. Directions for driving and where to park can be provided on request.
The walk follows the Werribee River south, crossing the Bicentennial Bridge and doing a short walk through Wyndham Park to where we meet the Werribee River.
Leaving the park, the walk continues downstream along the river to Bungies Hole and the Angler’s Club. Platypus have been seen in all sections of the Werribee River with recent sightings at Bungies Hole. As we continue to follow the river, we connect with the Federation Trail and continue to our turnaround point at the back of Werribee Open Range Zoo.
We return along the same path, stopping at Chirnside Park for lunch and use of the public facilities.
The walk then continues back along the opposite side of the river where we can have coffee before heading back to the train station or your vehicle.
