We’d love to see you!
Koonung Bushwalking Club
A friendly group of people who love outdoor activity
We share a vision with other bushwalking groups to ensure Victoria is a diverse, secure and healthy natural environment cared for and appreciated for all.
We recognise that our community has a growing and diverse population. We are known as the friendly club and everyone is made welcome. We also recognise that walking, particularly in the outdoors enhances wellbeing and good health.
Membership of a club is a good way to meet others who share similar interests and has been a great source of friendships for those wanting to explore outdoor activities with like-minded people.
Our members are a friendly and easy going group of varying ages, fitness levels and abilities who love bushwalking and socialising. Our club walks and activities aim to cater for this diversity of membership.
The club maintains a membership of about 150. The club welcomes new members, including those who are transitioning to retirement.
Koonung Bushwalkers is a collection of likeminded individuals who are passionate about bushwalking: it’s our social outlet, our meditation, our wellness, our fitness and our adventure.
The Koonung Bushwalking club has events on offer most weekends as well as a regular mid-week walk. The events calendar provides an outline of upcoming activities with further information available at club night and in the monthly newsletter.
You don’t have to be a member to join one of our walks. You’re welcome to come along and get a feel for who we are and to see if we’re the right fit for you. Come to one of our monthly meetings, or contact our secretary for information about a walk.
Koonung Bushwalking Club acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we walk, work and live, and recognise their continuing connection to land, water and community.
Managing Parks Together with Traditional Owners
Koonung Bushwalking Club supports Parks Vic initiative for Joint Management of Parks
Parks Victoria has had an Indigenous Person on the Board since 2015. Parks Victoria and Traditional Owners now share Joint Management of Parks in Victoria.
Become a Volunteer!
We would welcome your offer of assistance.
There are lots of areas where we need volunteers – walk leaders, leader assistance (whips), committee, sub committees, car-pooling, supper roster, walk talk newsletter, Facebook page, webpage, helping with special events, etc
